Scale Technician (entry level) and (experienced)

About the Job
Field and bench repair / calibration of electronic and mechanical scales and weighing systems. A strong knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting with the ability to work independently are required, as are prior work experience and good verbal skills. We are a retailer of scales and have been in business for over 30 years. Our Service Technicians install, program, calibrate, troubleshoot and service weighing equipment, independent of direct supervision. Other duties include providing consultation on maintenance services, reviewing terms and details with customers, and completing appropriate test reports and service documents. Service Technicians are periodic called out after hours so that customers can be serviced in the event of an emergency.

We understand that most candidates will not have direct knowledge of scale repair, so we will provide training. Because you will spend much of your time representing our company at our customer's locations, you must possess good interpersonal and customer relations skills. We are looking for a long-term employee, and historically have experienced very low turnover. Repair / calibration experience in a lab setting is a plus. You must be able to lift 50 lb weights and have a valid driver's license. Retired military with an electronics rating as an alternative to work experience in industry is fine with us. We are looking for intelligence, personality and a desire to learn a trade that will provide long-term and secure employment.

Requirements:
Valid state driver’s license; ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 90 days of employment; pass a pre-employment physical and drug test; pass a background check; capable of lifting 50 lb. test weights. Electronics degree or background is a plus.
